I have been more than a little disappointed to see that in the midst of chaos there are so many people pointing fingers at each other. We waste too much time and too much energy worrying about whose fault this is.
There will be a time and a place to evaluate how a tragedy of this scale could have been avoided. I hope that in the coming days we can stop being Red State or Blue State people, Democrat or Republican and just be American citizens lending a helping hand to those who need a hand up.

Hi Q,
I am incensed about the finger pointing on both sides. I want to shake them and tell them to stop acting like a bunch of pompous assholes.
It is time to work together, period.

Just to keep the balance …
It’s true that the left is blaming Bush for not acting quickly enough, etc. But the religious right is also in “blame” mode.
Here’s a link to a few appalling quotes from a group that calls itself Repent America.
Jack, you’re right. This is not the time to let politics divide people, and not the time to figure out how it might have been handled better. Right now the priority is, rescue survivors and restore order.

Hi all,
It is nice to see that we are all in agreement here. I just hope that we are able to influence others.
