I’m a little late to the party but it seems that you’ve resolved the coding issue. I can sympathize with you, I’m no programmer either and don’t know how to do all that fancy stuff.
I think that’s great of Stan to put some headers together for you, I think something like that might be nice but I actually like the color. As you can tell from my place, I prefer the simple look myself so as far as creativity when it comes to themes, I’m not much help.
Great job so far. Don’t stress yourself out over it though. We come here for you, not your theme. You’ll get it all sorted out in due time.

As an artist I see what catches my eye. I was not distracted by anything. I love the color combinations. I want to see the quote in your header better. I would definitely put some contrast in the lettering of the header. But like all art there is always differing opinion. You’ve done a fantastic job. What you see is not what other people are seeing. I wish I could help! But as you said in referring to Braille, it would be the blind leading the blind!

OK I just had my laptop taken away and went to my iPad and it looks completely different on Safari than IE, WTH?
These pages render differently in different browsers. It is part of what has made me a bit crazy.
OK that’s enough tinkering, call in the troops! Too much of a good thing = pita.
I really like the new overall format – it looks like a newspaper, you’re a writer – perfect.
My opinion: I would clearly deliniate where else you write and/or separate content out by topic under About Me. The Postrank format does not fit with the rest of it. I like the whole clean top section. Keep it white.
I am seeing the weird code at the top, but not the formatting issue at the bottom that another commenter mentioned. (and I’m using Chrome if that makes any difference)
I like the grey and blue you have going on. It is very soothing.

Chrome and Firefox seem to be ok, but IE is a pain. I don’t see any formatting issues on the bottom of the page in either.
But that tracking code uptop is killing me, can’t remember how it got there and just want to nuke it.

Do you build your sites yourself or do you mess around with templates? If you modify templates, are they free or paid subscriptions?
Wish I could build sites myself. I am just a guy who is learning by doing. Sort of doing this by Braille.
