I used to hate Gmail. I didn’t find it useful or intuitive. I suppose that you can attribute that to a love of folders that developed from a million years of using Outlook.
I have since changed my mind and come to love it. Ok, love is probably too strong a word but I am undoubtedly a big fan of Gmail and Google in general. I use Gmail, the calendar, Google Docs, Google+, Google Voice and the search engine daily. It is fair to say that Google has changed my life.
It is also fair to say that even though I am a big fan I have made a point to maintain some other email accounts and online tools. I don’t expect Google to disappear but then again I never expected Worldcom to fail either. There is value in diversification and not keeping all of your eggs in one basket. Things happen.

I have quite a few gmails accounts Jack. I saw the notice in the corner but was afraid to view what they had done just in case I couldn’t get back to the old look.
After viewing this though, I’m ready to change it over. I will definitely like the feature of being able to create filters without having to go into the settings. How convenient.
Appreciate you sharing this. Now I can’t wait to check it out for myself.

Hi Adrienne,
I understand your reluctance to change because I am always careful with that too. I learned that through “hard” experience.
However this has been nothing but good and useful so I am really pleased with what I have seen.

Hey Jack!
I’ve been using the new gmail for about two months now. I’m a project manager for a Google partner that happens to be a trusted testers, so I get to experience the first wave of new stuff google products (Google Apps). Just wait until you see what G+ is going to bring!!!!
I really like the new look too. Hope you’ve been well!

‘THIngS happen, huh? Because I’ve used my business e-mail as my personal e-mail for so long (which wasn’t the smartest thing to do, huh?); I’ve gradually started using Gmail for a personal account. I do like the mail, the reader, Google Chrome, etc. I’m a fan…….
Jack says
Things definitely do happen and with a little luck most of the time they are good things.

If u use “Gmail, the calendar, Google Docs, Google+, Google Voice..” then you don’t just love it, you’re crazy for Google :)) that’s cool though b/c so is the rest of the world we love Google
Jack says
I suppose you might be correct.

GMail rocks. I never thought I would, but I don’t use my regular mail reader any more because the GMail spam and conversation filters and search are so convenient and good. Unfortunately now google knows all my deepest secrets, but I try not to think about that.
Jack says
I often wonder what Google does with our secrets.

I use my Gmail account mostly as an email client for my POP3 accounts associated with the domains I own. Keeps me free from needing to use a Microsoft program and is great when mobile. I just wished there was an iPhone app that had better Gmail functionality. The native client does ok, but I can’t reply using POP. That is the one thing that would turn me to an Android the next time my contract is up.

I have a Droid that I love most of the time in large part because it does interact so well with Gmail. It is very convenient.
Sometimes I miss the speed of the BlackBerry in sending/receiving email but overall it is a very pleasant experience.
