If you want to build a community and create a rip roaring blog of value and excitement you need to give the readers what they want or so they say.
Today I was told to do more podcasts by one person yet in a separate message I was told not to.
One person liked my voice and another was irritated by it because they “prefer my words.”
Since these positions are diametrically opposed I am going to continue to do what I do best, follow my own heart.
There is no question regarding the importance of trying to meet your reader’s needs but not at the expense of your passion.
P.S. I wrote this post on my phone using the WordPress app.
It was easy to do but I still prefer the computer.

ReallyGina1Â I am far too grumpy to try to please everyone. It really is an impossible task.

michellelongo I understand that. If you can’t listen it renders them completely useless. Sometimes I like the podcast because I like practicing my verbal storytelling. It takes practice to tell a story out loud just as it does via text.

geoffliving Just be you is the way to go. Makes life much easier and I think the posts are better when you we write with our own voice and interest.

You can never make everyone happy at once. At least I have found that to be true. I like variety.

I personally don’t like podcasts and vlogs because I don’t have the ability to listen. Usually when I’m reading it’s because I need a silent activity so I miss out on a lot of things people put out there because of volume. (Yes, I do know earbuds exist.)
I prefer to write because I communicate much better that way. My podcast would be a complete disaster.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Â Just be you.
